da brwin: It would seem a number of Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter do not want to see Tom Lees anywhere near the pitch after his latest showing for the Owls on Saturday afternoon, with many leaving some harsh remarks about the 29-year-old.
da luck: Wednesday are on a bad run of form at the minute as they continue to struggle to pick up points, having won just one Championship match in 2020 so far and drawing three of their last five (per WhoScored).
Things actually looked as though they could change for the Owls on Saturday, though, as they looked to be moments from securing all three points at St. Andrews but for Scott Hogan to put the ball into the back of the net in the dying embers of the game.
Indeed, fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations once the final whistle had been blown, with many of them directing their anger towards Lees in the aftermath.
Looking at his individual match data, though, it would appear the 29-year-old did not have the worst of games as he won eight aerial duels, made 16 clearances, blocked one shot and made one interception but the fact that he failed to register a successful tackle (per WhoScored) may have led to some of the club’s faithful slating him.
In fact, many do not appear to want to see him at the club anymore, with some calling for the Sheffield Wednesday hierarchy to shift him on as soon as possible. One fan even wanted the club mascot, Ozzie the Owl, to replace him.
Here are just some of their reactions…
