da betano casino: According to The Telegraph, Southampton expect to agree a new deal with Ralph Hasenhuttl before the end of the current campaign.
What’s the word?
da 888casino: The Saints boss was under intense scrutiny earlier in the season following his side’s 9-0 drubbing at the hands of fellow Premier League side Leicester.
But reports in the aftermath of that suggested majority owner Gao Jisheng, as well as chief executive Martin Semmens, were in “firm agreement” that Hasenhuttl was the right man to take the club forward.

Now, The Telegraph’s Sam Wallace has provided a major update on the Austrian’s future, revealing the St Mary’s side expect to come to terms on a new contract. It’s further added that whilst “the club are yet to reach what they consider a safe points total, there is confidence that Hasenhuttl buys into the long-term future and is prepared to commit to a new deal.”
Vindication
It would have been oh-so-easy for Southampton to pull the trigger on Hasenhuttl’s position as manager right after suffering their embarrassing defeat to Leicester earlier this season. After all, there is no doubt other bosses have been sacked for far less than that – just look at Claudio Ranieri losing his job with the Foxes just nine months after lifting the Premier League title.
So for the Saints hierarchy, and Gao in particular, to keep their nerve and retain their faith in their Austrian manager is a real testament that they believed in the process and the long-term goals of the club. Now, just months after that Leicester debacle, they are only four points behind Manchester United, and are on an upward trajectory.

Had Gao got it wrong, then Southampton could well have been staring at relegation to the Championship. Instead, his season-defining decision has been completely vindicated with suggestions they are now looking to tie down Hasenhuttl to a new deal.
Meanwhile, Southampton fans have hailed this ace’s display despite the defeat to Tottenham.
