da fezbet: A goalless draw with Burnley on Sunday appears to have ended any hopes Tottenham had of breaking into the top four and once again they could be made to settle for just a Europa League place.
da stake casino: There have been some positive aspects of the campaign, most notably the emergence of star striker Harry Kane, and with Mauricio Pochettino building a youthful energetic team there could be plenty more to come from Spurs next season.
The manager will be keen to add to his squad over the summer in order to help a Champions League push with a number of arrivals expected, and it looks like there will also be plenty of players shown the exit from White Hart Lane after falling out of favour with the manager.
A number of their big names have failed to impress since the arrival of Pochettino, and it would be a surprise if many of them stick around for another year in North London.
Here are five Spurs players who look set for a summer move as the squad clearout begins…

Roberto Soldado
Much was expected of Spanish star Roberto Soldado when he arrived at the club for £25m in 2013, but he has ultimately failed to deliver during his time in England, proving to be one of Tottenham’s most disappointing signings during the Premier League era.
Having struggled for form with just 16 goals in 70 games, his fate looks to be sealed thanks to the emergence of new hero Harry Kane. A lack of first-team football has clearly dented his confidence, and after scoring just one league goal this season, he was snubbed once again at the weekend as his side drew a blank with Burnley.
Soldado and Spurs will both be keen to end his English nightmare and it looks likely he will return to Spain in a bid to revive his career.
Emmanuel Adebayor
Emmanuel Adebayor almost left Tottenham in January, but his proposed move to West Ham broke down at the last minute. An important player in the side over recent seasons, he was a regular on the score sheet not too long ago. However, he’s made just nine appearances this season and has fallen out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The form of Kane has kept the Togo forward out of the side, and it appears his time at White Hart Lane is coming to an end with his contract also set to expire next summer.
It’s highly unlikely the club will offer him a new deal and they will be keen to shift one of their highest earners of the wage bill. The club are reportedly willing to subsidise his £100,000 a week wage in order to push through a loan or even permanent move this year in order to finally get him out the club.
Paulinho
Another member of the Spurs squad struggling for playing time under Pochettino is their Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.
The 26-year-old made a decent start to life in England, impressing in his first season with eight goals after arriving from Corinthians in 2013.
But this season has been a completely different story, with Paulinho starting just twice in 13 league appearances, and he is another who looks like he could be on his way as part of the summer clear out.
The Brazil international, who has won 32 caps, was heavily linked with a return to his homeland in January and while nothing came of it during the last transfer window, it’s unlikely he will remain a Spurs player beyond this season.
Etienne Capoue
Etienne Capoue was another of Andre Villas-Baos’ signings back in the summer of 2013 that yet again promised plenty but has failed to live up to expectations.
Like many of his teammates he has struggled to break into the first-team, finding opportunities limited under Pochettino since arriving from Toulouse for £9m.
The Frenchman has not made an appearance since their FA Cup defeat to Leicester back in January, and the 26-year-old is reportedly also likely to be sold during the next transfer window as part of Pochettino’s squad overhaul.
Mousa Dembele
Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele is another who is thought to be considering his future after a disappointing season at Spurs. Having started just nine Premier League games this season, the 27-year-old appears to be out of favour with Pochettino and has hinted about a possible move due to a lack of first-team football.
Despite being one of Tottenham’s most important players over recent seasons, he has fallen behind Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb in the pecking order this term, and has revealed he feels very disappointed at his lack of playing time.
He suggested he will review the situation at the end of the season, and it would be no surprise were he to push for a move. A top quality player when on form, he still has plenty to offer and there’s sure to be a fair few clubs sniffing around over the next few months.
