da pinup bet: Samir Nasri looks set to finally leave Arsenal according to the Daily Telegraph after failing to sign a new contract.
da brdice: A move to Premier League rivals Manchester City now looks a certainty with Arsene Wenger appearing to give up on his efforts to keep Nasri at the Emirates.
The French midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season and Wenger has accepted that he must cash in now or risk losing him for free next summer.
It’s a far cry from Wenger’s adamant stance four weeks ago stating that he’d rather keep Nasri for the season and lose him on a Bosman.
City boss Roberto Mancini is on record as being a long-term admirer of Nasri and could table a new £25 million bid for the Gunners playmaker.
The Italian seemed to indicate a bid for the 24-year-old is imminent whilst talking to the press after the Community Shield defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.
He said: “We have the targets we had at the start of pre-season.”
It is thought that Arsenal are prepared to accept the bid as soon as City formalise their interest in the Frenchman who has stalled on a new £90,000 a week deal to stay in North London.
The midfielder wants to move to the Etihad Stadium and knows he can pick up almost double the weekly wage Arsenal are offering.
