da dobrowin: Garry Monk revealed on Wednesday that he is in no rush to sign a new contract, and now plenty of Leeds United fans are concerned about their manager’s future.
da cassino online: The former Swansea City boss has been a shining light for the Whites, guiding them to a Premier League promotion bid following his arrival at Elland Road in June last year.
As it stands, Leeds are fourth in the Championship and comfortably in the playoff places given that there are eight points between themselves and seventh-placed Fulham.
A 10-point stretch from the top two indicates that the Whites are unlikely to gain automatic promotion to the elite division, but they have a strong chance of getting promoted.
It is understandable that the club’s following would want Monk to be tied down to fresh terms, particularly as his current deal expires at the end of the season, but when probed on the subject, he confirmed that it is no closer to happening.
The Yorkshire Post quotes Monk as saying:
“I haven’t spoken to the club but to be honest, I’m very much focused on the football and getting my team prepared for Friday. My contract runs to the summer so there’s still a lot of time to speak about that situation.
“We haven’t sat down and spoken but there’s a lot of time between now and the end of the season. It’s not important right now. The most important bit is that we focus on this game on Friday.”
Fans tweeted their reaction to the manager’s comments, with many baffled that the club have not moved quickly to keep him.
