da imperador bet: Tottenham Hotspur will have to be aware of the threat posed by Adama Traore when they take on Wolves this weekend.
On the chalkboard
The flying winger is an electric presence on the right flank and has been in fine fettle for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this term.
Indeed, Wolves are currently sixth, a point ahead of this weekend’s opponents.
Traore has, thus far, made 15 appearances in the Premier League and famously netted a brace against Manchester City earlier this term as Wolves won 2-0 at the Etihad.
He has also provided two assists and is a constant menace, with the club currently on an 11-game unbeaten run.
Mourinho’s produced some incredible footballing stars – how much do you know about them?
Per WhoScored, he averages 0.9 shots per game, 1.1 key passes, and a staggering 4.5 dribbles, while he is fouled on 2.4 occasions per game.
He mucks in defensively, too, winning 1.5 tackles and making 0.7 clearances, while also making 0.9 crosses from the right flank.
Quite simply, Traore likes to get the ball and run with it and it will be down to Spurs to stop him.
Vertonghen’s job
Jan Vertonghen has been playing primarily as a left-back in recent weeks and his appearance there against Burnley was his third successive outing in the role.
It will, then, come down to the Belgian to stop him.
While he is not known as the quickest defender around, per WhoScored, he averages 2 tackles per game, along with 2 interceptions and just 0.2 fouls. Add in a clearance average of 3.1 per game and one can see that this is a disciplined, effective defensive presence.
He will have to bide his time against Traore and wait for the most effective opening to win the ball back but it is a possibility that he can halt the former Barcelona man.
If he can do that, Traore’s pass success rate of 72.5% suggests that he will be largely unable to impact the game properly in the final third.
But if Vertonghen fails, the same fate could befall Spurs as Manchester City.
Meanwhile, one Spurs man’s deficiencies were on full show against Burnley.
